Windermere Stream

A Cottage on the eastern side of lake Windermere was under threat from erosion from a stream. The owner contacted Mr Mike Dewis of Mike Dewis Farm Systems for advice. Being a regular customer of Wolfenden Concrete for many years Mr Dewis knew Wolfenden would be able to provide a precast solution to quite an unusual problem.

Our standard 1500mm wide Slurry Channel was modified to enable a cascade to be formed in the existing stream to contain floodwater and prevent the foundations of the house being washed away.

Certain channel sections were covered with a bespoke loadbearing concrete precast cover and built into the landscaping to provide a cost effective, environmentally friendly and aesthetically pleasing result.
